Hydrothermal Carbonization

The evolution of Anaerobic Digestion

Ideal for Direct Food Waste Upcycling

The most capital and carbon efficient path for biomass to energy on the planet

Simple. Scalable. Flexible.

HTC is a chemical process using water under low pressure and temperature as a catalyst to break down feedstock into fixed carbon (similar to coal) and additional water.

The process is not biological, creating a reliable process that is easy to maintain and much faster than the Anaerobic Digestion (HTC is two hours or less vs AD at 15-30 days).

Thousands of hours of operation in Europe and Asia have fine-tuned the latest models to meet the economic needs of the US.

Enhance existing Anaerobic Digesters

Adding HTC to existing AD units increase biomethane production from 30-50% depending on feedstocks while decreasing low-value solids by up to 50%.
